30 Day Gratitude Challenge

Join Me for a 30-Day Gratitude Challenge!

After going through cancer treatment and experiencing firsthand the miraculous power of gratitude and present-moment awareness, you might think I would spend every waking moment in that state. During my journey, I was overwhelmed by extended periods of deep peace and profound contentment. You would assume I would continue the practice effortlessly. Believe me, that’s the goal! But, as I’ve learned, it’s not always as easy as it sounds.

A Difficult Start to 2025

The start of 2025 has been challenging for my wife and me. Our sweet dog, Marley, passed away on January 2nd. A dear friend who had been staying with us moved on to new opportunities. My mother-in-law required a hospital stay. Our other dog—who is 22 years old—became sick, forcing us to accept that she was in her final days. These moments have been heavy, yet they are not the biggest obstacles to staying present and grateful. The real challenge is my mind's tendency to cling to the past and project into the future. It’s ironic. When I was battling cancer, I found it much easier to dismiss those distractions and embrace the now. Somehow, that feels harder these days.

The Struggle to Stay Present

Gratitude isn’t always easy. I can intellectually list my blessings, recognizing all the reasons I must be thankful, but sometimes, I struggle to truly feel the gratitude. And that’s okay. I remind myself to be patient and to practice self-compassion. I am a work in progress—just like all of us.

A Simple Yet Powerful Gratitude Practice

That’s why I’m inviting you to join me on a 30-day gratitude challenge. Having a supportive community working toward the same goal can be a game-changer—something to be grateful for in itself! And I’m keeping it simple. Each day, I will:

  • Write down three things I’m grateful for

  • Practice mindful appreciation of small moments

  • Express gratitude to others through actions or words

  • Reflect on past challenges and find gratitude in the lessons they taught me

My hope is that through this challenge, gratitude will become second nature—something I don’t have to try to feel, but something that naturally flows through me.

Let’s Do This Together!

I’ll be posting updates to stay accountable and to create a space where we can all encourage and inspire each other.

So, what do you think? Will you join me? Let’s cultivate gratitude together and see what shifts in our lives over the next 30 days. Drop a comment below if you’re in!
